Dave Cullum, Commercial Director

This month we said a virtual farewell to Board Member Dave Cullum via videocall as he retired after a career spanning 47 years at Jerram Falkus.

Dave joined W J Jerram Ltd as a Surveyor in 1973, his first project being the construction of 719 homes for the Greater London Council (GLC) at Ferry Lane, Tottenham built on the site of the former Lebus Furniture factory, on the banks of the River Lea.

In 1981 Dave was seconded to Falkus Construction Ltd during the period of acquisition, which would later see the business become Jerram Falkus Construction Ltd. Following 20 years working across many projects as a Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, Dave became head of the Commercial department in 2001 before he was appointed Commercial Director in 2009.

Jonathan Jerram, Managing Director said, ”Dave was responsible for commercial reporting and projections, essential to giving the company financial control and confidence, allowing us to grow and evolve, navigating a changing industry and maximising opportunities. On behalf of the Board and colleagues I would like to thank him for his significant contribution and dedication to the business over the years. Dave has been a loyal and supportive Board Director, who has encouraged the next generation and has always been committed to seeing the business develop and achieve great things.”

Richard Blake, who was appointed fellow Commercial Director in 2018, who will now be solely responsible for all Commercial aspects of our construction projects going forward.

We look forward to celebrating properly with Dave in person soon, but in the meantime wish him and his family all the best for his retirement and the future.
