Golder’s Green Road Project – Building Sustainable Housing in North London

Construction is progressing swiftly at our Golder’s Green Road project, where last week our Board of Directors had the opportunity to see the advancements firsthand. This ambitious project is spearheaded by Jerram Falkus in partnership with Agudas Israel Housing Association, aimed at designing and constructing a six-storey block consisting of 22 new homes. These homes are tailored to meet the needs of the Orthodox Jewish community, emphasising quality and community-centric living.

Project Location

The Golder’s Green development is strategically located in North London, offering picturesque views towards Wembley and Hampstead Heath. Despite the compact nature of the site, which is bordered by busy main roads and residential areas, our extensive experience as urban development specialists enables us to effectively navigate the spatial constraints.

Current Developments on Site

As of now, the structural framework of the building is established with the concrete frame securely in place. Blockwork construction on the ground floor is progressing well, marking a significant phase in the building’s architecture.

Advancements in Building Amenities

The construction of communal stairs has commenced, with plans to install Metsec framing systems by the start of November. This system is crucial as it supports insulation, exterior cladding, and interior boarding, enhancing the building’s thermal efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

Innovative Balcony Design

A notable feature of this project is the balcony design, tailored to enhance the cultural experience of residents by offering views of the night sky during significant holidays. These balconies are being installed starting from the top floor, using a methodical scaffold construction approach.

Community and Logistics

Our collaboration with the client, their team, and the local community has been pivotal in scheduling construction activities around key holidays to minimise disruption. Our logistics strategy includes a “just in time” delivery system to reduce onsite storage needs and mitigate traffic during peak hours on the A406 North Circular Road.

We extend our gratitude to Leidon Civil Engineers for providing exceptional aerial photography via drone shots, which have greatly aided in our project monitoring and stakeholder updates.
