Standing Proud with Medway Pride and MHS Homes!

Last Saturday saw Medway Prides annual event in Rochester, where Jerram Falkus proudly stood alongside the LGBTQIA+ community, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to equality. Our involvement with this vibrant celebration, in collaboration with MHS Homes, demonstrates our dedication to fostering inclusivity both in our projects and the communities we serve. As a proud partner, we ensured that Medway Pride and MHS Homes were prominently featured in all aspects of our involvement, including the installation of eye-catching signage that demonstrated our support.

Medway Pride: A Beacon of Diversity

Medway Pride CIC is a not-for-profit community organisation that works tirelessly to promote equality and diversity across Medway and its surrounding areas. Their mission is to eliminate discrimination, particularly on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. The annual Pride event is a vibrant manifestation of this mission, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate love, acceptance, and unity.

We take immense pride in our association with Medway Pride and MHS Homes. Our St Clements project, situated in a prominent position for visitors to Rochester, provided a unique opportunity to visibly express our support. We adorned our site hoardings with Pride signage, a joint initiative with MHS Homes, underlining our collective commitment to the cause.

A Day of Celebration and Unity

Central to the days festivities was the parade, a spectacular procession that wound its way through Rochester and culminated at the iconic Rochester Castle. The parade featured local LGBTQIA+ groups and community performances that filled the air with energy, joy, and pride. Among the attendees were members of Team Jerram Falkus, including Simon Birnie, Pre-Construction Manager, Alison Cormack, Social Value Manager, and Lin Nevell, Accounts Manager. Their presence at the event highlighted our companys deep-rooted commitment to supporting Medway Pride and MHS Homes.

The day was not just about celebration; it was a powerful reminder of the ongoing work required to champion LGBTQIA+ equality. While the event marked the close of this years Pride season, our dedication to fostering an inclusive environment doesnt end here. We remain steadfast in our efforts to support Medway Pride and MHS Homes throughout the year, ensuring that our work in the construction industry reflects our values of fairness and equality.
