All Topped Out at Roxwell Road

On a sunny morning this month, Jerram Falkus Construction were joined by Be First, Barking and Dagenham’s pioneering regeneration company, to celebrate the topping out of our Roxwell Road project, in Barking.

87 New Quality Homes

Works commenced in August 2022 with completion set for May 2025.

Work started with the demolition of disused social housing blocks. Construction then started. Once complete, we will deliver 87 new homes, including 80 apartments set across three blocks and seven townhouses. Nine homes across the development are adaptable to cater for residents with limited mobility. The project will deliver new quality homes for local people.

Delivering as a team

The ceremony took place on the roof of the first completed frame block. Joining our site team were Cllr Darren Rodwell, Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council, Geoff Raw, Managing Director of Be First and Tim Porter, Director of Delivery at Be First along with Be First staff.

Jonathan Jerram, Managing Director of Jerram Falkus Construction, said:

“Jerram Falkus believes that local people have a right to environmentally sustainable homes and we are immensely proud to be delivering the scheme at Roxwell Road. We built quality housing in this area in the 1960s and these homes are still lived in and much loved by their residents.

“Our engagement and knowledge within the Thames Ward is exemplary through supporting residents as well as ongoing and meaningful engagement with schools and community groups. We have employed marginalised individuals from the borough and continue to support local young people into the industry, giving them the opportunity to experience work on a ‘live’ building site.”
