All topped out! Jerram Falkus celebrates key milestone at West London development Ark Soane

Jerram Falkus is delighted to have recently celebrated a major milestone at Ark Soane, as the £52m design and build project topped out.

The topping-out ceremony was well attended. Key figures and stakeholders of the development including Simple Life London representatives, Stuart Churchward and Steven Brewster, as well as Jamie Wilding and Andrew Watson from Countryside, came along to commemorate this exciting milestone in the construction of the multi-million-pound project.

Overview of the project

Construction began last August on the mixed-use education and residential scheme in Acton, West London, for Countryside and the Department for Education, which is one of our biggest projects to date.

The development will see the creation of a 70m tall structure with the ground, first and second floors accommodating phase 2 of Ark Soane Academy, a new 1200-place secondary school. The upper levels will comprise 113 residential apartments, and in addition, three separate townhouses will also be constructed on the site.

A large proportion of the new homes are being constructed for the Greater London joint venture between Sigma Capital Group plc, the build-to-rent specialist, and its partner, EQT Exeter, part of a global investment firm, EQT, and will be for the private rental market.

Once constructed, these 92 apartments will be let and managed by Sigma Capital Group plc, under the ‘Simple Life London’ rental brand. Of the remaining homes in the new development, 21 will be affordable, managed by Network Homes, and three will be for open market sale by Countryside.

The major milestone

We are proud to see the project reach this significant milestone, which was achieved working alongside our partners’ Countryside, Sigma Capital Group Limited, Network Homes and LocatED. We look forward to seeing the development reach practical completion, with Ark Soane Academy set to be ready by September 2022 and the residential dwellings by March 2023.
