Topping Out at Melfield Gardens

Jerram Falkus were joined by Phoenix Communtiy Housing, Goldsmiths University of London, the GLA, Potter Raper and the London Borough of Lewisham, to celebrate the topping out of Melfield Gardens in Lewisham.
Passivhaus & Intergenerational
This Passivhaus project commenced in November 2022 and aims to be completed in July 2024. It is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when agencies come together in sincerity to deliver quality, sustainability and efficiency.

The development will provide 32 new homes and a community room. The majority of the spacious new homes will be allocated to residents over 55 years old and are designed to attract under-occupiers from within the local community.
Melfield Gardens is also an intergenerational scheme and will include accommodation for postgraduate students from Goldsmiths University of London.

The Ceremony
The Topping Out ceremony is a traditional celebration held to mark reaching the full height of the framework of a building structure.
We are proud to see the project reach this significant milestone
Jonathan Jerram, Managing Director of Jerram Falkus Construction said:
It is highly gratifying to see this project meet this milestone and we are looking forward to seeing it being enjoyed and appreciated by the people that move in. Jerram Falkus are delighted to have delivered this scheme and to know that it will facilitate people downsizing and the freeing up of much needed family homes.

Denise Fowler, Chief Executive of Phoenix Community Housing said:
These are homes to be proud of and homes that people will want to show off. By having smaller homes that people aspire to live in more of them are then willing to give up larger family accommodation.

Lesley Johnson, Director of Property and New Business said:
Thank you to Jerram Falkus for being one of the most considerate contractors we have worked with.
