St Benedict’s School, New Ark, Ealing

Jerram Falkus takes immense pride in announcing the successful completion of the New Ark project at St Benedict’s School in Ealing. Following the triumph of prior construction endeavours for the school’s Sixth Form and Art Design & Technology Building, our appointment reaffirms our expertise in creating educational environments that inspire learning and growth.

Project Vision

The New Ark project was conceived with a bold vision: to consolidate classrooms for the Junior School and integrate the Nursery within the school campus, all within a single, high-performance structure built to the exacting Passivhaus standard. This endeavour is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and creating learning environments that are functional and future-ready.

A Haven of Learning

The new construction has ushered in a new era of educational facilities at St Benedict’s School. The school children now benefit from spacious, state-of-the-art classrooms that foster learning and creativity. The Nursery and Reception classrooms, thoughtfully designed, open out directly onto an inviting outdoor learning and play area, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor educational experiences.

Moreover, the Junior School has been endowed with a new entrance hall that welcomes pupils and visitors alike, alongside a modern Home Economics facility that is set to ignite culinary passions and life skills among students.

Technical Excellence in Construction

The project involved the meticulous demolition of an existing single-storey brick-built structure, making way for the construction of a new three-storey cross-laminated timber structure adorned with brick cladding, culminating in a new teaching space spanning 1600m². The construction process, carried out while the school was in full operation, necessitated stringent management of access and safety for the staff and students, a challenge we navigated with precision and care.

A Legacy of Educational Construction

Jerram Falkus has been at the forefront of constructing educational facilities that stand the test of time and evolve with future generations’ needs. The St Benedict’s School New Ark project is a shining example of our dedication to delivering educational projects that encapsulate excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
